About the Author
Tim Couzens qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1980 and attended some of the very first courses to be held for vets at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital in Great Ormond Street, gaining his VetMFHom in 1991. In 1995 he established the Holistic Veterinary Centre in Lewes, East Sussex which employs two other veterinary surgeons and four lay staff and offers not only homeopathy but also acupuncture, herbal medicine, flower essences and chiropractic. He is consultant to a number of companies producing natural medicines for animals and has written for several magazines. He has also contributed to a number of books on homeopathy and complementary medicine but has a special interest in treating horses homeopathically.

Dennis McDougal is the author of eleven books, including Dylan: The Biography, The Last Mogul: Lew Wasserman, MCA, and the Hidden History of Hollywood, and the true-crime books Angel of Darkness and Mother’s Day. He is also a coauthor of Blood Cold: Fame, Sex, and Murder in Hollywood. Formerly an investigative reporter for the Los Angeles Times, McDougal began covering movies and media for the same newspaper in 1983 and, more recently, for the New York Times. His journalism has won over fifty honors, including the National Headliners Award and the Peabody Award.

Mary Murphy, a coauthor of Blood Cold: Fame, Sex, and Murder in Hollywood, is a senior lecturer at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. She is a contributor to the syndicated shows Entertainment Tonight and The Insider and has been on the staffs of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Los Angeles Times, and New York, Esquire, and TV Guide magazines. While conceptually the book is accurate, it is outdated by the Azure Service Fabric SDK. The samples including the configuration files do not work. It would be nice if the author had updated at least the online samples but they do not work either. All these make reading the book a difficult and frustrating experience. I really hope that the author and the publisher will find the resources to remedy this situation as soon as possible. IMHO Service Fabric is one of the most attractive technologies and services in the Azure portfolio. It is one of the biggest differentiators and a book in such a messy state makes it disservice to say the least.

I get it. SDK's change and it's not really possible to make last minute changes.However, why is the code on the download page also not up to date? Why not provide a github that folks can submit PRs to so that it can be kept up to date? If the book is about programming, then the examples should work. At the very least acknowledge it on the rather empty looking errata page.That's why I'm deducting two stars. If this book had any other key word in the title than "Programming", I probably wouldn't be so harsh about it.Also, double for money? Seriously? If you think small rounding errors aren't a big deal, I'd suggest not basing your understanding of money on "Office Space".And why choose WCF over REST? Maybe there was a reason, but it's left to the reader to guess why. Not a lot of folks are using WCF these days unless they have a specific reason to use it (eg. still need SOAP or have to support non-HTTP communication)

Despite the fact that this book was written just a year ago, almost none of the examples are working now. I pulled out my hair until I managed to fix all of them. I faced a lot of substantial changes in namespaces, in class names and a lot of deprecated classes and concepts. It is a shame on Microsoft for doing such level of changes. Otherwise, the book is very well organized and written. The topic is very interesting. I have learned a lot. Definitely, this book - with working examples - would deserve 5 stars.

Very well written book. Before purchase, i read the reviews for this book and was not sure about it. I purchased this book before Christmas holidays and I have completed reading 90% of it by now. Azure Service Fabric is by nature complex subject. No one resource can provide you all the knowledge. I have skipped most of examples (code) since many things has changed since it was written. Instead I recommend reader utilize this book as a Theoretical Introduction and do the practice implementation using latest Azure Documentation.This book is really smooth to read. In past 3 weeks, i have searched web and could not find any video / tutorial / training that come any close to this book.Thanks Haishi Bai for taking time and making this content available for learning right on time.

I started playing in a Metallica tribute band, and needed to learn 40 Metallica songs FAST!! I did not have time to learn it all by ear ,including the solo's, so I splurged and bought almost every Cherry Lane, "play it like it is" Metallica book out there. This company has been releasing these books for over 20 years and the transcriptions are always 98-100% spot on!!!! You will never be disappointing or playing the wrong notes from the songs this company transcribes. They also transcribe for most of the monthly guitar magazine publications in the world, so that should speak for itself!

I love this album but i swear some of these tabs sound slightly off especially in the super shredding and i've had a hard time with the way the harmonies are on orion with 2 guitar tab on same lines i now have the first classic 5 tabs love them but the books are impossible to keep open while playing wish i had a way to get the ringed one

The transcriber did a great job, every note Lars plays is represented and present. Even the vocal lines are transcribed. The layout follows the album track listing, which doesn't always happen in the guitar editions. I recommend this book to any Metalica fan trying to better understand tempo and rhythm.
